All Divisions
A. General Rules -
  1. Irvington Motor Sports Park, Inc. (IMSP) Reserves the right to determine the right of the racing program, distance of races, method of starting, number of vehicles to be entered in any event and the adjustment of any prize money.


  2. Prize money may be adjusted in any class that has less than twelve (12) participants. Minimum purse/ 80% pit gate.


  3. Printed rules and regulations governing racers, drivers, crews, and owners are available at the track. Ignorance of any of these rules is not an acceptable excuse for violation.


  4. Interpretation of rules and decisions of Track Officials will be FINAL and not subject to protest. Officials may stop any Race if and when they deem conditions hazardous or unsafe.


  5. When a racing event is stopped due to adverse weather conditions or unfavorable circumstances, prize money will be paid only to racers/drivers for races or events completed prior to postponement.


  6. All persons entering the pit area Must sign all track release forms and must obtain and display the official pass for each racing event as required All minors must sign special minor releases and have Pit Passes.


  7. The Management reserves the right to refuse any entry to any person or car, without question. The signing of all release and registration is agreement by racers, drivers, car owners, crew members, and their visitor/guests to abide by these rules and regulations.


  8. Any racer, driver, car owner, mechanic, crew member or others in their pit area who encourages or takes part in any fighting or other adverse demonstrations, or any racer who uses obscene or vulgar gestures or language in front of the fans stands (during or after a racing event) shall be subject to immediate expulsion, fines, suspension, and or winnings and points forfeited.


  9. Any racer, driver, car owner, mechanic, crew member or others who commit any assault or threaten to do bodily harm to any speedway official or others, shall be barred from the racing event, and subject to prosecution.


  10. The racer/driver will be held responsible for the conduct and personal behavior and appearance of their pit crew. The racer/driver alone shall be the sole spokesman for any matters that pertain to the racing event, or race vehicle.


  11. NO DRINKING of intoxicating beverages in the pit area before or during races at IMSP. No DUI on any track. No drugs in you or on you. Offenders will be ejected from the premises.


  12. No vehicles in the pit or infield area will be covered by insurance. Park at your own risk.


  13. Any winnings or prizes earned in any racing event will be paid direct to driver. All racing participants are responsible as independent contractors for any taxes on any winnings or funds they receive as competitors.


  14. IMSP Officials reserve the right to move a driver from one division class to another based on the type of vehicle or driving experience or performance.


  15. Drivers may not switch from one division to another without the permission of officials. Drivers wishing to get permission for class change must wait sixty days since their last feature race participation to be eligible to move to a lower class/division. Drivers wanting to compete in more than one weekly class may do so provided it is of the same level/experience, example Super Hobby/Pro-Stock and Modifieds, must be cleared by track officials prior to racing. This is intended to keep playing field level for all classes.


  16. Anyone under the age of eighteen (18) years of age, must have a notarized/witnessed release of liability form and written permission from their parents/guardians to be allowed to race.


  17. When a racing event is stopped due to adverse weather or other favorable circumstances prior to the feature races, your ticket or pass will be honored at the next regular racing event. Special races will have a rain date and/or special instructions.


  18. Attendance by racers/drivers or car owners is mandatory at all drivers meetings. Failure to attend the drivers meetings could result in loss of right to protest any technical, scoring or procedural matter or change. All engines must be turned off during drivers meetings. Failure to comply results in loss of position in the heats.


  19. Any situation not specifically covered by these rules and regulations will be acted upon by the race director and his decision will be final.


  20. First time competitors and new vehicles "must"report to Tech for safety check. All must meet safety minimums. The Tech official will determine class/division.


  21. Track officials reserve the right to temporarily change the race vehicle numbers to avoid duplication and difficulty in scoring. Numbers on both sides and top must be a minimum of 18 inches tall, 3 inches wide. Also numbers in the headlight area are requested. The colors used for the numbers should contrast in color and stand out for easy viewing at night. This is very important for your scores to be accurate. Also the fans can identify you better as they watch your performance.


  22. Any racers/drivers getting outside of their race vehicle onto the track racing surface during an event will be disqualified, or suspended unless emergency condition exists (fire, etc.) or if, an official requests or directs drivers to do so. Racing director will determine the length of suspension.


  23. If these rules do not say you can, you can't.

  24. Packing the track is mandatory for all weekly classes if needed. Should packing be required it will be announced,if you do not participate in packing the track before hot laps, you must take up the rear of your heat.


  25. Note: These Rules and Regulations are intended as a guide for the conduct of the racing sport and are in no way a guarantee, or an expressed or implied warranty against injury or death to the participant/driver, spectator or official. They are the minimum acceptable requirements for the orderly conduct of our racing events.

B. Protest - All Divisions
  1. Inspection and ruling of eligibility of any race vehicle will be made upon properly presented protest. The management assumes no responsibility for detection of violations or irregularities of rules governing mechanical , technical, or safety specifications of racing cars/ vehicles.


  2. Technical and visual protests must be files with chief technical official. Safety or other rule violations may also be reported to tech officials, pit steward or the racing director.


  3. All visual protests shall be made in writing prior to the start of the first heat race of that class. A visual protest is one that does not require any type of special measuring device to establish the legality of any part of the race car.


  4. All technical protests must be made in writing within 10 minutes following the completion of feature race. Only a driver in the same race may file a protest. A technical protest must be accompanied by a cash bond. See you class/division rules for the ($) amount. Only 1 item may be specified in each protest. Only that item will be considered. Any vehicle protested must be ready for inspection within 30 mins from the time the protest is filed or the vehicle will be disqualified.


  5. Any driver refusing to tear down engine will be considered illegal and loses the protest.

    1. Driver losing protest by "refusal".
      1. Loss of winning s and points for event

      2. Racing suspension - 2 weeks (2nd refusal 4 weeks)

      3. Re-tech vehicle after 2 weeks to re-enter class

      4. May move up to faster class without suspension, once car moves up, cannot return during season.

      5. Protest bond returns to filing driver less tech fee.

    2. Driver losing protest by "teardown"

      1. Loss of winnings & points for event

      2. Re-tech vehicle before re-entry at next week event

      3. Protest bond returns to filing driver less tech fees.

    3. Driver winning Protest

      1. Protest bond is given to winning driver except tech fee ($50 or as specified in class rules).


  6. Any driver/racer finishing in the top 4 places may protest first, second, or third place. If, you are being protested, you have the right to reserve protest. You must file a reserve protest within 10 mins of being advised by tech official or the original protest.


  7. Only 2 members from each team are allowed inside the tech building. The protested car/vehicle may have 1 additional person to help with teardown. Misconduct from either team will result in disqualification or forfeiture of protest.


  8. All claims must be in writing and submitted to pit tech official within 10 mins following your class completion of feature race. Only a driver in the event may file a protest or claim or have the official scoring checked for his/her race.


  9. All racers finishing in the top 5 places must report immediately to tech. DO NOT STOP AT YOUR PIT!
C. Safety - All Divisions/ Classes
  1. All racing vehicles and drivers will be required to meet all safety regulations prior to competition. No exceptions! All safety equipment must be in working order and used any time race car is on track.


  2. All drivers in all divisions/classes are required to wear a complete fire resistant drivers suit, single layer(minimum)Nomex drivers gloves, approved neck support or brace any time car is on the track. A sternum belt, fire resistant underwear and shoes are highly recommended. Approved full face type Racing helmet required, z-90 spec. or better. Motocross Riders are required to have snell approved full face helmet and motocross boots.


  3. There must be a metal firewall between driver and gas tank and between driver and engine. Steel roll cage must be framed mounted, securely supported and braced. Rollover bars are mandatory and must be approved. Soft metals such as aluminum are not permitted. All bars must be welded and not less than 1 1/2" o.d steel tubing. Front and rear roll bars must be connected at top and bottom on both sides at seat height (cage type). Side roll bars are mandatory and must extend into door panels, minimum of 3 on left side and 2 on right side with additional support on back of roll bar. Steel door plates are recommended on driver side.


  4. Center top of steering post must be padded with at least 2" soft padding material. All Roll Bars in area of head must be padded with approved racing roll bar padding. No mirrors allowed.


  5. A quick release safety belt minimum 3 inches wide is mandatory and must be fastened to roll bars with bolts 3/8" minimum. Safety belts must be in good condition and less than 5 years old. 5 point racing harness minimum. Aluminum high-back racing seats only. Fiberglass seats are not acceptable.


  6. All cars must be equipped with an approved fully charged fire extinguisher in good working order mounted within easy reach of driver when strapped in. Extinguisher must be mounted with a metal quick release mounting bracket. Plastic not acceptable. On board fire extinguisher systems are recommended.


  7. Battery must be securely mounted in the trunk area of all cars. Batteries are not allowed in the drivers compartment unless encased in marine type box with secure metal straps. An Emergency battery disconnect switch is highly recommended.


  8. Safety type racing cells are mandatory in all divisions. All fuel tanks and cells must be mounted with a minimum 2" x 1/8" steel safety straps that completely surround tank. No gas cans or beer keg type allowed.


  9. Drivers must be able to exit car from either side for their protection in case of fire or crash.


  10. No race car shall be allowed on track at any time, unless the official starter (flagman) is in his position and the track is officially open. Do not ask for laps during the intermission time, when the red flags/lights are posted.


  11. No one is permitted to cross the track at any time without permission from track officials.


  12. All cars must have front and rear tow hook or approved provisions for hooking up to a wrecker. Wreckers , crews, and track officials are not responsible for any tow damage.


  13. Kill switch is required within easy reach of driver.


  14. A 360° degree drive shaft loop is required. Must be constructed of minimum ¼ inch by 2 inch steel, or 1 inch steel tubing mounted 6 inches back from front U-Joint. Drive shafts are to be painted white with car number legibly painted on shaft.


  15. Window nets mandatory on drivers side for all classes, except Modifieds have the option of either window net or approved arm restraints.


  16. Any exhaust through drivers compartment must be enclosed to prevent driver from burns.


  17. Windshield vertical bars required. Screen required on drivers side, full screen recommended.


  18. All added weights must be painted white and securely bolted inside or on the frame of car with bolts (3/8")


  19. Any drivers getting outside of their race cars onto track racing surface during an event will be disqualified, unless an emergency condition exists ( fire, etc.) Otherwise only track officials mat direct or request drivers to get out of their car onto the track racing surface.


  20. They are the minimum acceptable requirements for the orderly conduct of our racing events.
D. Flag Procedures
    Note: Special flag rules and specific situations will be addressed at the drivers meeting. All drivers are required to attend. The following flag rules are a general policy.

  1. GREEN - Track clear - Go - Start of race.


  2. YELLOW- Caution. Be alert & aware - Spin outs or other potential danger on track. You may race back to finish line and yellow lap will be scored. Always be alert to the red flag that could follow the yellow.


  3. RED- Stop -- as quickly and safely as possible. When light changes from red to yellow/caution proceed to front straight away for lineup . Cars will be lined up for restart as they completed the previous green lap. Drivers must remain in cars and are not permitted to work on their cars on the track. If you go to the pit during red, yellow, or green, you must restart at the rear.


  4. BLUE AND YELLOW - You are being lapped. Yield racing groove and move to the outside/top of the track and allow the cars to pass. Failure to do so, adds one lap penalty and possible black flag.


  5. CROSSED FLAGS - Half way signal.


  6. BLACK - Consultation flag, pull into the pit. If race car remains on the track, it will not be scored.


  7. WHITE - One lap to go to checkered flag.


  8. BLACK & WHITE CHECKERED - End of race.

    1. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, feature winners should go directly to Victory Lane.
    2. The 4th , 5th place winners should go directly to tech. Do not stop at your pits.
    3. The 1st,2nd,3rd place heat winners will receive their trophies and take pictures during intermission, unless otherwise instructed at the pit meeting.

  9. TRACK SIGNAL LIGHTS mean the same as the flag rules.
    Intermission is under the red flag and no racing is allowed under red.
E. Race Procedures
  1. All Drivers should be registered 1.5 hrs before Race Time. Lineups will be posted in the pit at the tech building. Drivers Meeting is 30 min before race time. It is the drivers responsibility to be lined up prior to his racing class event.


  2. Initial start of the race will be in turn 4 at the cone and/or chalklline. The inside pole position car sets the pace. No turtle crawls or jackrabbit starts will be allowed. Pole position will be forfeited, if race must be re-started second time. Any cars that jump will be sent to the rear and second time jumps will be sent to the pit. Judges decisions are final.


  3. Any time a driver thinks he has lined up in an improper position, the driver is to report in an orderly manner, and if error has been made it will be corrected if possible.


  4. Any driver, owner, or crew member (including spouses) who climbs on the flag stand, will result in disqualification, and 2 weeks suspension.


  5. Any problem, pull to the right of pit exit and pit steward will check it out. Any car that stops anywhere except at the pit steward area (turn 3), will be penalized.


  6. No repair work will be done on race cars on the track. Anyone walking to a car while on track will penalize the car 1 lap.


  7. All race cars must enter and exit the pits from the back straightway at turn
    a. Exiting the pits at any other location will result in a 1 lap penalty, unless the officials instruct the driver to do so.


  8. Any driver spinning their tires and/or exiting or entering the pits excessively fast (over 5mph) or in an unsafe manner will be subject to a fine or suspension. Remember to be courteous to all persons and cars in the pit.


  9. Any driver who purposely spins out the race car in front of him will be put to the rear. The car that was spun out will go back to his original position. In the last lap, the 2nd place car cannot take out the leader with a caution-related item, after the leader receives the white flag.


  10. Any driver which causes a yellow or red flag will restart on the rear. Any car going to the pits at any time after the green flag start, or during a yellow or red flag must take up the rear. No courtesy laps will be given for repairs.


  11. Any driver having two unassisted spin outs in a race resulting in a yellow flag being displayed will be sent to the pits.


  12. The Chief Technical Inspector will determine which cars cross the scales, and in which order and in what condition. Failure to cross as instructed before or after an event will result in disqualification.


  13. IMSP Officials reserve the right to conduct Technical and safety inspections of any car prior , during, or after a race to determine their eligibility. Any car in any division/class is subject to P & G and compression check on any race night or race event.


  14. A race will be considered complete once the leader is given the checked flag and crosses the finish line. Should an incident occur after the leader has been given the white flag, and the red flag is displayed, then the lap will be restarted based on the last green lap. If an incident occurs after the leader has passed the checkered flag then the remaining cars will be scored in order that they cross the finish line.


  15. The winner of the previous feature race in each division will automatically start on the rear of the feature race at the next following regular racing event. Specialty races excepted from this rule.


  16. The only time that anyone is allowed in the scoring tower is after the conclusion of the racing program. only one person is allowed per car. Failure to follow instruction of track before, during, or after racing event will result in disqualification, and penalties causing loss of money and points, and/or suspension from the race track. All items may be discussed but no arguing or profanity will be tolerated in the tower. This rule applies to any driver, owner, crew member or spouse.

RACING - DIVISIONS - 2005 Class Rules
PURE STOCK CLASS
This class is for drivers seeking fun and thrills, in a very competitive class, on a low budget. Any item not specified must remain stock as produced by OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) year and model.
  1. Engine:

    1. Stock production V8, V6, or inline 6 engines. Must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. (e.g. no ford in GM)
    2. Engines must be in stock location, no setback.
    3. Engines less than 400 cu in, maximum bore .068 ; engines over 400 ci limited to .040; Compression 10.5:1.
    4. Hydraulic camshaft and lifters only. Maximum cam lift 468, checked at valve. Cam must have ID#.
    5. Stock rods and camshaft for engine used. No lightening or stroking.
    6. Stock type dish or flat top pistons.
    7. Stock unaltered 2 barrel intake. No aluminum. Adapter plate 5/8" max.
    8. Stock ignition only HEI or points.
    9. Racing oil pan permitted.
    10. Stock cast iron manifolds or street headers with optional collector (must be past driver)
    11. Air filter mandatory, no airboxes, hats permitted.

  2. Cylinder Heads:

    1. Stock unaltered cast iron heads only. No double hump, bow tie, or vortex heads allowed. Must have casting number.
    2. Maximum valve size, intake 1.94, exhaust 1.5
    3. Stock type rocker only. No roller tips. No port. No polish.
    4. No angle valve jobs or valve reliefs. Any valve spring or steel retainer ok. Guide plates polylocks allowed.

  3. Carburetor:

    1. Must be OEM unaltered carburetor or 500 cfm Holley 4412 with no modifications except may remove butterfly.
    2. No extended squirters or modified boosters.

  4. Clutch:

    1. Stock clutch and flywheel. No aftermarket or lightweight clutches. No aluminum flywheels. No lightened flywheels. No hydraulic throw out bearing. Clutch actuated by hydraulic slave cylinder OK.
    2. Stock torque converter. No direct drives or spools.
    3. Scattershield recommended.

  5. Transmission and Rear End:

    1. Stock transmission, standard or automatic. Must have forward and reverse.
    2. Stock rear end for car. Locking is permitted. No rear end crossbreed exchanges. 3 wheel brakes mandatory.

  6. Suspension:

    1. All parts must be stock for make and model and unaltered.
    2. Racing shocks permitted. Must mount in stock position.
    3. No weight jacks or adjustable spacers.
    4. Minimum 108" stock wheelbase. Stock rails may be tied.

  7. Body and Paint:

    1. Keep stock appearance. May hull both doors, top hood, trunk lid. Must remove all glass and flammable materials.
    2. Must keep stock steel floorboards and firewall must be maintained. Weld or bolt doors shut. No mirrors.
    3. May trim fenders for tire clearance or remove fender wells.
    4. Stock bumpers, no push bars. May have aftermarket nosepiece. If breather thru hood, must have scoop.
    5. Quick steer optional,may have quick disconnect steering wheel. Racing seat required. Seat fastened to roll cage.
    6. Maximum 5" spoiler allowed to match car configuration.
    7. Fuel cell (see safety), Battery (see safety)
    8. 18" number on doors and top in contrasting colors. Rookies must have 8" "R" beside their number.
    9. MUST HAVE REAR AND FRONT END HOOKS! (If it doesn't have them, you can't race them!)

  8. Fuel System:

    1. Gasoline only. - No additives.
    2. Fuel cell mandatory in trunk. (see safety rules)
    3. No electric fuel pumps.

  9. Safety:

    1. See safety rules in general rules for all classes.

  10. Weight:

    1. Minimum car weight 3300 pounds with driver after completion of main event.
    2. Any added weights must be bolted securely.

  11. Wheels and tires:

    1. Racing wheels recommended. No aluminum wheels or locks.
    2. All wheels must have 1" lug nuts. Min 4 per wheel.
    3. Maximum 8" steel wheels and tires.
    4. Tires, 8" diamondback Recap, Green 45 compound, or 8" recap with DOT casing with 50+ compound, or 8" Towel City recap, or 235 DOT approved street tire.

  12. Protest:

    1. Technical Protest fee $100, includes $25 Tech fee. (See protest section under general rules.)

    Note: Racing Director reserve the right to request any frequent winner to move up to the next class.
MINI STOCK CLASS
This class is for any type 4 cylinder car, foreign or domestic, Strictly stock, unless noted by these rules. This class allows the racers to limit their racing costs and keep low budgets. No models built after 1990 are allowed.
  1. Engine:

    1. Must be stock for make, in original position, 2400cc max, .060 maximum bore. No setback firewall modifications.
    2. Stock steel heads, no high performance, no polish, no porting, no crank exchanges or cuts. no turbo, no supercharger. OEM aluminum heads OK for Toyota,Nissan,etc. Aluminum head cars must add 50 pounds in front of fire wall. Weight must be safely secured. Stock rods for model used.
    3. Headers allowed. Air filter mandatory. No air box.
    4. Flat tappet or hydraulic cam with .510 maximum lift measured at valve spring retainer. No roller cam.

  2. Carburetor:

    1. 4412 Holley, 500 cfm. No extended squirters or boosters. May remove choke butterfly. Maximum 1.25 in. adapter allowed. Fuel injected intake manifold OK.

  3. Ignition:

    1. Stock type distributor; no aftermarket performance units.
    2. Stock electronic ignition modules for make.

  4. Chassis:

    1. Stock unibody frame may be tied together. No crossbreeds.

  5. Body:

    1. Doors, hood, roof, trunk area may be hulled.
    2. Full stock firewall and floorboards, may repair.
    3. Stock appearing metal body, plastic allowed on bottom of sides of front and rear. 4" spoiler, deck width ok.
    4. Weld or bolt doors shut. No mirrors. Must remove all glass and flammable materials.
    5. Vertical bars and mesh required in front windshield; drivers side window net required. See safety rules.
    6. MUST HAVE REAR AND FRONT END HOOKS! (If it doesn't have them, you can't race them!)

  6. Suspension:

    1. Spring or racing shock to be mounted in stock location.
    2. Quick steer optional. No coil overs. Stock swaybar.

  7. Transmission and Rear End:

    1. Factory stock rear end for make and model, may be locked.
    2. Factory stock transmission, no special productions. Must have all gears working including reverse.

  8. Clutch:

    1. Stock clutch and flywheel, No aftermarkets or lightweight clutches. No aluminum or lightened flywheels. No hydraulic throw out bearing. Clutch actuated by hydraulic slave cylinder OK.
    2. Must have a two inch (2.0 in.) inspection hole in bell housing/or open access, to allow for technical inspection of flywheel, and all clutch components.

  9. Radiators:

    1. Any stock radiator in stock location. No guards may be built in front of radiator to extend past end of hood, grill or bumper. No front bump bars may be installed.

  10. Fuel System:

    1. Racing fuel cell mandatory. Tank must be secured.
    2. Fuel cell must have complete steel container. (See safety)
    3. Gasoline-only.

  11. Brakes:

    1. Stock factory brakes and pedal. No after market brake pedal assembly. 3 wheel brake minimum.

  12. Safety :

    1. See SAFETY section - General Rules are mandatory.

  13. Lettering and Paint:

    1. 18" numbers must be in contrasting color on doors & top. Must be easily seen at night. (Suggestion- bright paint colors on car body and dark numbers to contrast will create a more exciting race image).

  14. Weight:

    1. 1lb per engine cc minimum with driver. 2150 lbs is minimum for any size. Muffler 50lbs weight allowance.
    2. Any car that does not meet all class rules may be subject to a weight penalty.

  15. Wheels and Tires:

    1. Track racing recap tires (diamondback) or 7" ± ½" DOT tires.
    2. Steel wheels only, maximum eight inch (8") wheel width. 1" lug nuts required , min 4 per wheel.

  16. Protest:

    1. Technical protest fee - $100 Top, includes $25 tech fee. See protest section under general rules. NOTE: All entries in any mini "B main" will be based on their previous experience and performance at IMSP.

Street Stock Class
This stock classis for 1960 and newer American coupes or sedans. This class attempts to keep a very reasonable budget for the racers. Drivers move up to this class from the "pure stock" class or have other racing experience. The "Crunch Bunch" always gives thrills and chills, spins and spills, as they battle for leading positions.
  1. Engines:

    1. Stock production V8, V6, or inline 6 engines. Must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. (e.g. no ford in GM)
    2. Engines must be in stock location, no setback.
    3. Engines less than 400 cu in, maximum bore .068 ; engines over 400 ci limited to .040; Compression 10.5:1. No exceptions
    4. Hydraulic camshaft and lifters only. Maximum cam lift 468, checked at valve. Cam must have ID#.
    5. Stock rods and camshaft for engine used. No lightening or stroking.
    6. Stock type dish or flat top pistons.
    7. Stock unaltered 2-barrel, or cast iron bow tie intake manifolds only. No aluminum. No marine intake manifolds. Adapter plate 1 5/8" max.
    8. Stock ignition only HEI or points.
    9. Racing oil pan permitted.
    10. Stock cast iron manifolds or street headers with optional collectors (must be past driver).
    11. Air filter mandatory, no airboxes, hats permitted.

  2. Cylinder Heads:

    1. Stock unaltered cast iron heads only, double hump heads OK. No bow tie, vortex, or 2.02 valve heads allowed.
    2. Maximum valve size, intake 1.94, exhaust 1.5
    3. Stock type rocker only. No roller tips. No polish.
    4. No 3 angle valve jobs or valve reliefs. Any valve spring or steel retainer ok. Guide plates polylocks allowed.

  3. Carburetor and fuel system:

    1. 500 cfm, 4412 Holley, unaltered 2 barrel carburetor. May remove choke butterfly. No modifications.
    2. Fuel cell mandatory (See safety) No electric fuel pumps.
    3. Gasoline with no additives.

  4. Suspension:

    1. All parts must be stock for make and model and unaltered.
    2. Racing shocks permitted. Must mount in stock position.
    3. No weight jacks or adjustable spacers.
    4. Minimum 108" stock wheelbase. Stock rails may be tied.

  5. Transmission, Clutch, Rear End, and Brakes:

    1. Stock transmission. Standard or Auto. Forward and Reverse.
    2. Standard stock type clutch and flywheel. No aluminum, no aftermarket, no lightweight. No hydraulic throw out bearings. Clutch actuated by a hydraulic slave cylinder OK.
    3. Stock torque converter. No spools or direct drives.
    4. Scattershield recommended.
    5. Stock rear end for make and model. Locking allowed. Optional: 9" Ford rear end allowed, but must be mounted like stock rear end (centered) for that make and model. No lightened ring gears or gun drilled axles. Steel axles, welded spider gears or mini spool only. No torque dividing differentials.
    6. Brakes, 3 wheel minimum.

  6. Body:

    1. May hull both doors, top, hood and trunk. Stock appearing.
    2. Complete stock steel floorboards and firewall must be maintained. Weld or bolt doors closed. No mirrors.
    3. May trim fenders for tire clearance or remove fender wells.
    4. Quick steer optional, may have quick disconnect steering wheel. Racing seat required. Fasten to frame and roll cage.
    5. May run aftermarket nose piece. Spoiler allowed to match car configuration. Max 5in.
    6. Breather may extend through hood with scoop cover.
    7. Trunk floor may be cut for fuel cell. (See safety).
    8. Racing seat no further back than trailing edge of door.
    9. Must have 18" number on top and door in contrasting colors.
    10. MUST HAVE REAR AND FRONT END HOOKS! (If it doesn't have them, you can't race them!)

  7. Safety:

    1. See safety section. General Rules are mandatory for all.

  8. Tires and Wheels:

    1. Steel racing wheels. No aluminum wheels allowed. Bead lock wheel permitted on right rear only.
    2. Maximum 10" wheels. Max 2" offset.
    3. All wheels must have 1" lug nuts. Min 4 per wheel.
    4. Tires, Diamond back 11" recap racing tires. Min compound 45 (green dot), or Towel City 11" recap racing tire. No cross groving, siping, or tire softening chemicals allowed.

  9. Weight:

    1. Minimum car weight 3200 pounds with driver after completion of main event.
    2. Any added weights must be painted white, securely bolted.

  10. Protest:

    1. Technical Protest Fee - $125. Fee includes $25 tech fee. See Protest section in general rules.

    Note: Racing director reserves the right to request any racer or frequent winner to move up to the next class.

SUPER HOBBY/Pro-Stock Rules
This class is open to any American made stock vehicle. The drivers in this class are usually experienced, spending more money to enjoy the thrill of winning at a higher level of racing without having to move to Late Model Sportsman. They have been named the "Wild Bunch" because of their fierce competitive racing and excellent driving abilities.
  1. Engine:

    1. a. Any cubic inch stock production engine. Engine must carry eight(8) pounds per cubic inch. CID must be displayed on hood of car at all times.
    2. Engine must match frame,GM to GM, Ford to Ford, Chrysler to Chrysler.
    3. Any hydraulic or flat tappet camshaft. No roller cams allowed.
    4. Any cast iron or aluminum intake manifolds allowed.
    5. Racing oil pans recommended.
    6. Any exhaust headers allowed.

  2. Cylinder Heads:

    1. Any cast iron heads allowed.
    2. Porting and polishing allowed.
    3. Any valve springs, roller rockers allowed.
    4. Screw in studs, guide plates and stud girdles allowed.
    5. No aluminum heads.

  3. Carburetor:

    1. 500 cfm Holley 4412 carburetor unaltered, may remove choke flap.

  4. Fuel System:

    1. Approved fuel cell with roll valve in good working order.
    2. No electrical fuel pumps or pressure systems.

  5. Transmission, Rear End, Clutch and Brakes:

    1. Cars must be self starting, and able to engage and disengage clutch.
    2. Approved explosion-proof bell housing, or quarter inch (¼") steel scatter shield required.
    3. Any clutch and flywheel, no spools. A racing clutch is required for safety due to potential high RPM in this class.
    4. Any automatic transmission allowed.
    5. Any three, four, or five speed transmission allowed. No roller ball tailshafts.
    6. Steel drive shaft only. must be painted white with car no. legibly painted on it.
    7. Rear end may be any production 5 or 6 lug.
    8. No quick change rear ends.
    9. Cars must have minimum three (3) working brakes.
    10. Four wheel production disc brakes allowed.

  6. Front suspension:

    1. Must use stock type lower A-frames
    2. Tubular upper A-frames allowed.
    3. Weight jacks allowed.
    4. Racing springs amd steel body racing shocks allowed. Any shock location allowed.
    5. After market spindles allowed.

  7. Rear suspension:

    1. Weight jacks allowed.
    2. Lower tubular arms allowed, but must not exceed twenty- three(23) inches.
    3. Cross member for upper arms may be fabricated.
    4. Racing springs and steel body racing shocks allowed. Shocks may be mounted in any location.
    5. Upper control arms may be shortened/lengthened to set pinion angle, maximum length thirty-six(36) inches. Tubular arms OK.
    6. Adjustable panhard bar allowed.
    7. Three or four link allowed.
    8. Leaf spring cars may move front perch up or down.
    9. No 5th arms.

  8. Body and frame:

    1. No compacts or pickups.
    2. Full frame cars, body and frame must match, GM to GM, Ford to Ford, Chrysler to Chrysler, years need not match.
    3. Unibodies MUST tie front and rear frames together with tubing to insure a rigid frame.
    4. Stock wheelbase for car being used ± one(1) inch.
    5. Bodies must maintain stock body lines and appearance. After market noise allowed. Aluminum bodies and/or after market bodies/components may be used. Fiberglass hoods allowed. Body must be same width and height of a stock body, front of roof may be dropped two(2) inches from stock height, rear of roof must be in stock position. Racing numbers on both doors and roof in contrasting colors.
    6. Interior may be gutted. Engine firewall and floor pan may be fabricated from 16 gauge sheet metal, rear must be closed in.
    7. Passenger side of car can be boxed in to driver or center of car.
    8. Spoilers no more than seven(7) inches taller than the rear edge of the trunk lid, no wider than the trunk.


  9. Wheels and tires:

    1. Wide 5 hubs allowed.
    2. Bead lock wheels allowed.
    3. Wheels: Steel wheels maximum twelve inch (12") width.
    4. Tires: Must run EC1, EC2, Diamondback, or Towel City racing tires. No sipping or cross groving allowed.

  10. Weight:

    1. Must carry eight(8) pounds per cubic inch displacement minimum with car and driver.
    2. The CID must be displayed on hood of car at all times.
    3. Muffler allowance -50 lbs.
    4. Lead weights must be mounted securely to car frame or cage by at least two(2) 1/2 inch bolts.
    5. Weights must be painted white and have car number legibly painted on it.

  11. Protests:

    1. Technical Protest fee $250, Tech fee $50 included.

STINGER BEES 4 CYL FWD (Front Wheel Drive) RULES

The Stinger Bee class is to promote fun affordable racing to all that wish to participate in auto racing. Those under 18 years must have signed consent form from parents/guardian on file with track. NO EXPERIENCED DRIVERS PLEASE. All experienced drivers to compete in 6 CYL FWD Super Bee Class.
Body and Frame:
  1. Most 4 Cylinder front wheel drive only passenger cars, 2 or 4 door sedans, hatchbacks, station wagons with a maximum wheelbase of 104 inches and a complete OEM body and frame/unibody.
  2. No Honda's, no Acura's, any models.
  3. May run all wheel drive/4 wheel drive cars provided rear drive shaft is removed. Will be checked.
  4. Frame must match body (i.e.Ford to Ford, Dodge to Dodge)
  5. The engine must be in stock location. Chassis must not be altered for engine placement.
  6. All bodies must be OEM stock steel. No altering or channeling of body allowed. No aftermarket spoilers, wings, air scoops, etc. that alter the stock appearance allowed.
  7. Full floorboards must remain intact. Firewall between driver and engine compartment must be original with no alterations allowed. All holes must be covered. Stock dash must be in original position and cannot be covered. VIN number tag must remain intact and visible.
  8. If fuel cell located in trunk area, must have metal firewall separating driver and fuel cell area.
  9. Sun roofs must be removed, hole must be covered with sheet metal and securely attached.
  10. All plastic, upholstery (except stock seat)pass/rear seating, lights, mirrors, and all glass must be removed.
  11. Car must have a minimum of three (3) upright windshield bars. A metal windscreen is highly recommended.
  12. Drivers side door/doors must be welded or bolted shut with approved fasteners. No rub rails, nerf bars, may be mounted outside of car.
  13. Wheel wells must remain in stock position. No cutting out of trunks, or interior sheet metal. Only cutting allowed will be for placement of roll cage, fenders may be reasonably trimmed for tire clearance. No sharp edges.
  14. All fenders, doors, hood, and trunk lid required.
  15. Hoods and trunk lids must remain stock and be securely fastened. Insulation must be removed from hood. Back of hood must seal off from drivers compartment. No air breathers may extend through hood.
  16. One 12 volt battery, recommend moving to a more secure location, if in drivers compartment must be securely mounted and inside a marine type case.
  17. No additional weight or ballast allowed.
  18. Stock bumpers must be in stock position. All bumpers must be capped to fenders. Hydraulic bumpers must be welded. No reinforcement of bumpers allowed.
  19. No attachment nosepieces. Must be metal and screen (no plastic) mounted at right angle to ground behind and above bumper. Must be stock appearing.
  20. Tow hook-up's mandatory, front and rear. 3/8" cable or suitable chain.
  21. Car numbers must be clearly marked 20" height X 3" width. Car numbers must be on both sides of car, with 5" numbers on left front and right rear above bumpers. All cars will be painted and neat in appearance.
Roll Cage and Safety Requirements
  1. A full perimeter 4-point roll cage with a diagonal or horizontal cross brace in rear hoop. Must have at least one cross bar in top halo of roll cage. Minimum of 3 door bars on drivers side and 2 door bars on right side must be used. No bars may extend through firewalls.


  2. Minimum .095 tubing at least 1.50 inches outside diameter for cage and door bars. No square tubing, galvanized pipe,or exhaust pipe may be used. No squared off corners.


  3. Roll cage must be securely welded to chassis/frame.


  4. A high back aluminum-racing seat is recommenced and be securely mounted to roll cage. Stock bucket seat may be used provided it is securely mounted and has a properly mounted back support bar. All cars must have some type of drivers head rest.


  5. All seat belts must be mounted to frame or roll cage of car. All cars must have an approved (5)-point safety seat belt and shoulder harness with a quick release buckle. Belts must be within track specified Mfg. date as set forth in track safety rules.


  6. Approved roll bar padding required in head area of drivers compartment, fire retardant padding recommended.


  7. All cars must have a drivers door window net. Must be fastened to roll cage and be quick release from inside or outside car. 8. All cars must be equipped with an approved fire extinguisher. See track safety rules for requirements.
Suspension
  1. Must be original OEM suspension. No reinforcing allowed.


  2. No aftermarket suspension parts allowed. No add on quick steer boxes. May use quick release steering wheel.


  3. One shock, OEM only, per wheel in original mounts. No racing shocks, no air shocks, no truck shocks. No racing springs, or chains allowed.


  4. FWD cars rear wheels must track straight ahead, no alignment changes to benefit cornering.


  5. OEM brakes only, brakes on all four wheels must work. No brake shutoff devices, no aftermarket pedal assemblies, no balance bars. Master cylinder must remain in stock location.
Tires and Wheels
  1. Steel wheels only. 6 ½" maximum width.


  2. Oversized steel lug nuts mandatory on right side (4 lug wheels)(1" lug nuts). Recommended on all wheels.


  3. DOT passenger car tires only. No recaps, No mud/snow, no racing, fancy exotic, trick gumball, or extreme low profile tires allowed. No sipping, softening or conditioning of tires. Must be OEM size tire for make and model of car, not to exceed maximum tire and wheel width. Maximum tread width allowed is 6 ½" inches.
Transmission and Driveline
  1. Stock OEM transmission only. No aftermarket parts allowed. All forward and reverse gear must be operational. Car must move forward and backward on demand.


  2. OEM drive train only. No limited-slip, posi-traction, or welded/locked differential.


  3. No traction control devices.
Electronic/Transmitting Devices
  1. No transmitting or listening devices.


  2. Coil and distributor must be OEM stock. No aftermarket ignition parts allowed.


  3. No electronic traction control devices.
Fuel, Fuel Tank/Cell, Carburetor & Injection System
  1. AUTOMOTIVE PUMP GASOLINE ONLY. No nitrous oxide, alcohol or performance enhancing additives.


  2. Stock carburetor / fuel injection system for that year make and model car. No alterations allowed.


  3. Stock fuel pump only.


  4. Master shutoff switch / kill switch must shut off electric fuel pump. Must be brightly marked (RED), within easy reach of driver w/belted, and where track safety crews can reach from outside car.


  5. An emergency fuel shutoff valve is highly recommended, to be located between fuel pump/tank and engine, within easy reach of driver w/belted.


  6. Stock fuel tanks may be used, if tank is mounted behind rear suspension, a U shaped bar (fuel cell guard) must be mounted between bumper and fuel tank, not to exceed width of frame rails. Fuel cells are optional, maximum capacity 8 US gallons, must be mounted in trunk area (centered) with a full metal firewall separating driver compartment from fuel cell.


  7. Fuel lines must not be routed through driver compartment.


  8. No aftermarket air cleaners/breathers. Must run OEM induction system (breather) and filter.
Engine
  1. Overhead valve, single overhead cam four (4) cylinder engines only. No superchargers, turbo-chargers, duel overhead cam or rotary engines allowed.


  2. Engine must be strictly stock for year model and make of car, be in original mounts. Example, Ford to Ford, Dodge to Dodge, engine series must match VIN, examples some Dodges have Chrysler engines, some Mitsubishi built engines, same with Ford and Mazda.


  3. Engine must remain in stock position.


  4. No changes or modifications to engine whatsoever. No aftermarket parts, no performance enhancing parts. NO porting or polishing.


  5. No headers. Must be OEM exhaust manifolds. Exhaust pipe must extend past firewall.


  6. No size (CC) limit on engines.

SUPER BEES 6 CYL FWD (Front Wheel Drive) Rules

Stock Car Points Program for Non-Sanctioned Divisions

The objective of the points program is to increase interest and competition in the weekly racing events, to provide a means to compete for rewards based on racers season performance.
  1. To be eligible to receive points each car Driver/Owner must have a completed 2004 IMSP Car Registration Form (no charge)on file with track.


  2. An Entry Fee of $10.00 per car will be donated for each event, of which 100% of all donated fee's will go to points fund. Each class will have a separate fund, Mini's, Street, etc.,based on car count signing in for each class. Point fund will be paid out after completion of regular racing season. Exceptions will be announced.

  3. To be eligible to receive points for a race you must be on track and in line to take green flag.


  4. In the event of a B Main/Consi race,

    1. First and second finishing positions will transfer to A Main and receive A Main points only, third position will become the (1) Alternate.
    2. Should either transfer position elect not to run A Main, they will receive B Main/Consi points earned, Alternate will start A Main and receive A main points only.

  5. Show up points (10) will be awarded to any car that has signed in, but due to mechanical problems/circumstances beyond their control cannot compete in nights events. The racer will earn this 10 points even if disqualified after the feature race for illegal Tech reasons.


  6. Points cannot be transferred/carried from one class to another.
    Example:
    Rookie moving up to Street. Heat Race Points 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 B Main/Consi Points 20-xfer-19-xfer-18-alt-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-posit 11 thru 20 will receive 11 points. A Main Points 40-39-38-37-36-35-34-33-32-31-30-29-28-27-26-25-24-23-22-21 Show Up Points = 10 (see item 5 above)
    Note: In the event there are more than 20 cars in a class, but not enough for B Main/Consi up to 4 cars will be added to A Main and will receive points accordingly.
